Turning on Water

Main Line

The main water lines are on the right side of Mike Tony’s cabin (the old cabin with the reddish roof) in a large metal box sunk in the ground.

  • Under the lid are two valves. The big one on top should be turned parallel with the pipe
  • Do not turn on the lower valve, this drains the water lines

If you still do not have water, check the springs.

Lower Spring

The lower spring has a smaller capacity and will provide less water pressure, but is more convenient and is always full of water.

  • Walk up the hill to the left of Mike Tony’s cabin (the old cabin with the reddish roof)
  • The reservoir is inside the old corral underneath plywood
  • To the right is a metal box with valves. Turn the main valve parallel with the pipe
  • 6 inches to the right of the metal box is another valve in the ground. Ensure this is also on

Upper Spring

The upper spring is filled via a solar pump from the lower spring that fills about 1/4 tank per day. This spring runs out of water faster, but has much higher capacity and water pressure. Be sure to check the water level regularly if using.

  • Go up the hill behind the cabin, and take a left behind the fence line, left from the generators. The reservoir is at the top of the hill
  • Gauge the water level from the wood block that hangs from the side. Lower means the tank is fuller
  • The valve is on the back of the generator in a protective box, turn on fully
